iLab initiatives to overcome the outbreak of COVID-19

A2i Innovation Lab (iLab) was established in 2017 to provide innovative solutions for the country. iLab always works to provide quick innovative solutions to any national issues that arise suddenly.

Three thermal scanners were installed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport when the number of coronavirus patients began to rise in China and several other countries around the world. When the scanners stopped working due to extra passengers pressure, in collaboration with the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) a technical team of A2I Innovation Lab (iLab) guided by Faruq Ahmed Jewel, Head of Technology, (iLab)  started working on it. On March 11, all the thermal scanners at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport became fully functional.

During the pandemic of COVID-19 A2i Innovation Lab (iLab) is working closely with the DGHS. When the outbreak of COVID-19 first started in Bangladesh, we took necessary steps to produce the protective equipments including PPE, Goggles, Mask etc. locally and sent them to DGHS and all over the country.

At the same time we have started R&D on medical ventilators by incorporating universities & individuals initiatives and arranged to test the efficiency of the innovated prototypes with the appropriate equipments in the lab environment.

iLab is still working to prevent Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. On June 9. 2020 Plasma Network “Shohojoddha” has been launched as a co-initiative of iLab.
