The International Invention, Innovation & Technology Exhibition (ITEX) is the region’s leading exhibition to showcase new inventions, technologies and products, targeted at securing investment, manufacturing and commercialization prospects and partners since last 30 years.iLab received 4 silver awards in ITEX 2019.
a2i’s Innovation Lab (iLab) incubates and accelerates innovations to tackle large scale problems of the society by leveraging technology, particularly electromechanical devices, Internet of Things and renewable energy. It also provides 360-degree support to individual innovators, students, and start-ups including seed funding, access to a Maker Lab, and mentorship by experts from the industry and academia. The incubation process comes with guidance to the young innovators to turn a prototype into a practical and viable solution. Innovators are further supported through copyright and patent filing to protect the intellectual property of the innovation.
The event features exhibitions across 15 categories related to innovation or technology which aim to make everyday life easier. ITEX is Malaysia’s longest-running invention, innovation and technology exhibition. It is held concurrently with the World Young Inventors Exhibition, incorporating the Asian Young Inventors Exhibition and the Malaysian Young Inventors Exhibition.
ITEX 2019 held in Kuala Lampur Convention Center, Malaysia from 2nd May to 4th May 2019. This year’s event there were around 1327 innovations presented from 21 countries including Bangladesh. Following the last year, the a2i iLab projects represented Bangladesh on this occasion in this year as well. With the innovations created by the rural innovators and university level innovators, two in house innovations of a2i participated in this exhibition.
This is a consecutive success of a2i where in the first-time participation, two projects of iLab received the gold award and one more project received a silver award in ITEX 2018.
