90% of the information we receive from our surroundings through our eyes. But at present, around 36 million number of people suffering from blindness. About 85 percent of them live in developing countries. Because most of these people are low income, most people can do nothing to regain their sight. As a result, these people are unable to perform normal movements. There are many limitations to their movement.
There are various types of devices or technologies that are helpful to these people who lose sight. But because most of them are quite expensive, it is not possible for most visually impaired people to use them.
Ahsan Habib has innovated Smart White Cane in collaboration with A2i Innovation Lab to solve the mentioned problem.
In 2019 the Smart White Cane project wins ITEX-2019 award from Malaysia.
